Who could pass up 50-cent nuts at the special price of 2/$1? Not me...

Heresy Bars...

So I stopped into the convenience store on a lunch break the other day and found a deal I couldn't refuse-

I must admit to being slightly disappointed, however. I bought and consumed two "Heresy Bars" and didn't feel any more inclined to espouse religious beliefs or opinions that varied strongly from accepted doctrine than before. Perhaps I grabbed the wrong bars. I had a Skor bar and a dark chocolate Snickers, which is about as heretical as candy bars get. Maybe if I'd gotten the 'Special Dark' solid chocolate bar instead.

I also recently came across a great deal on a 'Campaign Finish' bookshelf at Lowe's...

I thought it was particularly fitting that Lowe's would offer a special furniture finish during an election year. Imagine being able to tell your kids in 30 years that the 'heirloom' folding bookshelf you're handing down to them is the 'Special 2008 election year campaign finish'! I can just see Antiques Roadshow doing a special feature on that some time in the distant future.
Good thing I bought a garage full of them!

Throw Hillary from the Train...

Does anyone else think that Hillary Clinton sounds like Anne Ramsey in 'Throw Momma From the Train' when she elevates her voice? Can I get a witness?

Hillary

Momma

A certain resemblance must also be noted between Hillary's smile (and hairstyle) in this photo and those of Harold from the Red Green show.

Disclaimer: The previous observation does not necessarily reflect my political views. I'm an equal opportunity mocker of political figures.

A Box with My Name on it...

Welcome to my blog. I've created it, not in response to the urgings of my friends, but rather so that when I post pithy repartee on THEIR blogs my name will appear in blue with an underline like everyone else's, indicating that it links to SOMETHING, no matter how inconsequential. It puts me on an equal playing field at least temporarily, until someone clicks on the link and finds not much of interest. Oh well, life's all about keeping up appearances, isn't it?
